This tourist destination is jam-packed with bars and limin’ spots, so take your pick: there’s Coki Beach for the Sunday lime, where you can swim, listen to local bands jamming on the beach and eat fried fish and Johnny cakes (yummy!). Wednesday and Saturday nights, there’s Shipwreck Tavern, for the college crowd, with pool tables, fantastic burgers and ribs, and loud rock music.
Late on Saturday nights, the music switches to hip hop.
Friday nights, check out Tavern on the Waterfront, www.tavernonthewaterfront.com for cool jazz jams, where local singers and musicians liven up this second story, intmate waterfront restaurant

Karma, the new nightclub in St. George’s, launched in October 2007, is where the locals go to lime on Friday and Saturday nights. This “next dimension in nightlife,” features two levels and two spacious limin’ spots in one club, so you can get your groove on either in the classy lounge/bar area with intimate couches and a pool table
Or venture up the small flight of stairs and down a carpeted mirrored walkway into another high ceiling, expansive room with the latest technology in lighting, videos and sound system, along with a huge dance floor. The color changing LED lighting and split level VIP sections mean you could be at a South Beach, Miami club. www.karmavip.com
If it’s a full moon, there’s only one limin’ spot to be at: Bomba’s Surfside Shack, www.bombasurfsideshack.com. This really is a beach shack: odd pieces of wood thrown together for a bar, with a corrugated tin roof sheltering just the band area and the bar.
Other than that, the floor is all sand-it is a beach for real-and the sea is right there. The energetic reggae band goes all night and into the wee hours of the morning and this full moon party will happen regardless of the weather, so be prepared to party hearty till the moon disappears. Beware the infamous Bomba Punch and the mushroom tea served at the bar and by wandering souls looking to spice up the party. It is hallucinogenic

Coco Lounge, a brand new restaurant and bar located on restaurant row, Ariapita Avenue, in Woodbrook. This is where the local, upscale Trini crowd limes on Friday and Saturday nights. Just wear something casually stylish, sip an expensive glass of wine, and perch with them along the wall of the wooden patio area, swaying to the reggae jams and enjoying the island breeze

On weekends, the limin’ spots on this splashy island are found anywhere on Isla Verde or in Old San Juan. The best lime, however, is at the El San Juan Hotel www.elsanjuanhotel.com on a Friday night when the locals dress up to the nines and come out to drink, play in the classy casino, dine at a number of chi chi restaurants, and most of all, dance to the salsa band that plays swinging merengue and salsa music into the early morning hours. You can just lime and watch the expert dancers from a ringside seat at the central bar. The gorgeous wood paneled bar with its enormous glittering chandelier offers pricey drinks, that not only look beautiful, they taste amazing, too. We love the mojitos
Despite the mojitos clichéd presence at all bars now, here at the El San Juan, the mojito is king. Every time I lime here, it is the first thing I order. And don’t worry if you did not bring any trendy clothes to the islands, my sister and I wandered around this first rate establishment in beach dresses and flip flops because we were stranded during Hurricane Dean (August 2007) and all was fine.
